Look for the ski lift...
We visited Colorado/Jim back in May of this year. I say Colorado/Jim because we feel that they really are synonymous anymore. Jim has adapted well to the Rocky Mountain way of life and it is uncanny how he looks more and more like John Denver every time we see him.
Anyway, when we visited in May, Jim decided to take us hiking to one of his favorite spots. The weather was warm in Denver and Jim said we could wear shorts for our hike because the snow "certainly has melted by now" (should have trusted my gut here).
Jim drove us to the ski lift landmark, which apparently marked the spot of one of his favorite trails. Problem was we couldn't find the darn ski lift so we drove up and down and around the mountain for about 45 minutes trying to find it. When we finally did locate the spot, we started on our hike -- only problem was that it was pretty cold at that elevation and as for snow, yep, there was plenty of it. And when we set out, I couldn't go more than 2-3 feet without sinking in up to my waist. The warm weather had softened the 4-5 FEET of snow beneath our feet that we were trying to hike on.
Our hike lasted about 5 minutes. Hopefully Jim knows where the ski lift is for the next time we come out and we certainly are not wearing shorts.

Valeeevaleeeval....
...our pride, our joy, our daughter. Val loves to walk all over G-side and her hobbies include swimming, fetching balls or sticks, chasing rabbits, running through leaf piles, sleeping, laying in front of the fireplace, snuggling next to her mom and dad on the couch and ripping apart the cardboard tubes that paper towels are rolled on. Quite a simple life indeed. More to come about the "puppy monster" later.
10-22-05
If anyone wants to know...October 22 is the 295th day of the year (296th in a leap year) and there are 70 days remaining until the end of the year.
Also, in 2005, Tropical Storm Alpha formed in the Atlantic Basin, making this year's hurricane season the most active Atlantic hurricane season on record with 22 named storms. This date also brought the crash of Bellview Airlines Flight 210 in Nigeria - killing 117 on board, and the first phase of Transantiago, the new public transport system of Santiago de Chile was implemented.
No one of significance was born but Arman, a French born artist; Tony Adams, and Irish film producer, and Franky Gee, an American singer (Captain Jack) all died.

But none of that mattered for Brian and me as this was the best day ever as we tied the knot in Pittsburgh, PA surrounded by our best friends and family. That is why we named our blog 10-22-05 as it is the most significant and memorable day of our lives.
