Grateful

The past 9 months have been very hard on my psyche and my body.  I can't believe how hard being pregnant is.  It is not for me and I hope God will hear me and know the two perfect gifts he has given us after baby girl Kenney is born will be just right for our family.  And I am grateful for both of them. But I do want to take this time and thank my parents, Brian, and colleagues for everything they have done for me this pregnancy.

My parents are so good to me.  My dad drove my mom out to Philadelphia on multiple trips in my first trimester so she could help out and care for me, cook for us, drive Colton to school and back, and give me reassurance that all will be well. It really gave me strength and I don't think I could have done it without her there.  My parents also came in for another week and helped with our new house - cooking, cleaning, and caring as they always do.  To both of them, I am so grateful!

I always knew Brian was a good man.  I knew it the moment I met him.  And I have experienced all his goodness through the almost 12 years of knowing him.  But having a miserable pregnancy isn't just hard on the mom to be...Brian has been the most amazing husband and father through it all.  I cannot thank him enough for playing with Colton when I felt sick, for cooking, for cleaning, for walking Val on my turns, for driving Colton to school and picking him up, for all the work he did to get our old house in order for sale, and for all the hard work he did on our new house. He is really an incredible person. And I write this with tears of joy sliding out my eyes. I am grateful to have him by my side.

And lastly, I have an awesome job, boss, and colleagues I call friends. My job - which I very much enjoy - kept me distracted, by boss - who is very understanding - allowed me to work from home for the first 3 months of this pregnancy, and my colleagues - who picked up the slack and listened to my daily complaints throughout this pregnancy.  To all of them, I am grateful.

I see an end in sight with a scheduled induction on 12/9.  So unless baby girl Kenney comes earlier, I should have a new bundle of joy with the birthday of 12/9/13. The moment I can't wait for is Colton walking through my hospital door to see me and his new sister.  At that moment - I will be so grateful.

Cooking for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was a very intimate gathering of me, Brian, Colton, Mr. Kenney, and Val.  That's all. We couldn't travel because I'm 37 weeks pregnant - going anywhere outside of 20 minutes away is kind of scary for me. We got a precooked turkey breast, Brian cooked some legs, made the stuffing, green bean casserole, and Colton made the cranberry/orange relish. Everything was great, and it was just enough for all of us (including baby Kenney in my belly). Happy Thanksgiving.

VFW Train Show

We haven't done too much fun stuff on the weekends with Colton over the past few months.  While I do feel bad, it is because we are gearing up for a new baby and trying to get our new house in order.  So weekends are typically chores and furnishing the house.  But right down the street was a train show at the VFW, so we took advantage of its close proximity and made an event of it. It was a short-lived visit though. While the pictures show interest, all Colton thought was that he was going to get a train toy. So right after these pictures were taken, it was whining and crying - begging for his "promised" train toy (which we never promised). This lead us to a trip to Toys R Us (one last spoiling before baby arrives) where Colton picked out his train toy, and then shortly after, he had a major meltdown because he wanted a large remote control dinosaur instead. And now we have a large remote control dinosaur in our family room. Moving forward, we will stick to chores and furnishing the house on the weekends until I have enough energy to say, "no."

The Earharts Visit

Colton & Patrick
We hadn't seen Christina & Travis since before I got pregnant.  But we finally got around to getting together. They came over to see the new house and the kids had lots of fun playing together. Our goal is to fit in one more visit before our girl arrives.

KA Halloween Parade

Colton and Ms. Donna
Colton and Ms. Bonnie
We look forward to events at the Kiddie Academy to see Colton in action.  Colt is the T-Rex in line. He was so happy to see us and smiled so we could get some good pictures.  On their second lap around the parking lot, our happy guy was crying hysterically, which is what happened last year after he saw us. He was all smile at the party and pictured above are his awesome teachers. He has learned so much at school.

Pedicures

When I was in Stone Harbor, my little cousins (Brendan and Ryan) reminded Jessa and me that we used to paint their nails when we were at the beach together. While I don't remember it happening, I'm sure it did. Now Colton will be able to go to Ava and say she used to paint his nails.  Colt seemed to enjoy it and so did I.  Ava painted my toes too, which was awesome since I haven't been able to reach my toes for sometime.  I have been enjoying the different colors and sparkles she chose.

Meet Jude Thomas Kenney

Jude Thomas Kenney was born on October 8th, 2013.  We visited Bob, Mary, Ava, Luke, and now Jude last weekend.  Jude was a joy the entire time we were there.  Such a good baby. It was nice to finally meet him. We love him so much!

Prego Girls Unite

About a month ago my girlfriends and I got together at the Desert Rose in Media for dinner.  We try to do it as often as we can fit in, but this year has been more difficult with lots of activities, events, and the 4 of us all getting knocked up.  Katie is due sometime in November, I'm due sometime in December, and Devon and Kelli are due in March.  We had a nice time together while everyone else stared at us.
