Be Cool Eat a Rita's

Bob, Mary, Ava, and Luke came by to drop off boxes of baby boy clothes, bibs, burp cloths, and blankets (say that 3 times fast) and of course, for a fun-filled visit. Mary gave me some important tips about all the goods they dropped off, Ava and I hit the playground, and Luke and the gang played with Val outside until we headed to Vintage for dinner. Mr. Kenney and Pat joined us at Vintage, and I would say we had the most fun table in the joint. Ava sang Train's new single, "Hey, Soul Sister," tried my Shirley Temple (and liked it), we played with play doh, and all ate a delicious meal. We enjoyed a Rita's when we got home, and laughed all night long until it was jammies time. Spending time with our nieces and nephews is what gets us so excited to be parents.

Easter 2010

This Easter made me reminisce of my childhood as I think about the type of Easters our son may have. Many Easters we would head up to my Grandparents' house in the country where we would get to celebrate with my cousins. If it was a beautiful day, we would put on our Sunday best and head into their woods to the church we had made from clearing out an area where deer had once slept. We would develop a full blown service filled with scripture and song. I remember singing songs like, "Morning Has Broken" as we walked up the path holding a cross and an Easter Lilly to decorate the alter. My Grandma would point out all the flowers on the path to Jessa and I, and you could smell the rebirth of all Spring had to offer. Great memories.

And one Easter while we were up there, the Easter Bunny hid all these eggs for us to find. Before I could even get started, David (my brother) had found just about all of them. His basket was overflowing with so many filled plastic eggs while the rest of us had practically nothing. Which reminded me a bit of what happened with Ava, Luke, and Cecilia this Easter. Ava's Easter bucket had so many eggs - if she put anymore in, they would just fall out. The only difference to that of my childhood was when Mary said, "Ava let the babies have some," so Ava emptied out her bucket and made sure her brother and cousin would have some for themselves.

In Easter tradition, until we get to celebrate with Jimmy someday, attached is a video message made specifically for him. We miss you Uncle Jimmy.

Michael & Tracey

Brian worked with Michael for years and became very good friends. Lucky for me, he married a super cool girl - Tracey. And to make matters even better, Tracey is pregnant too and due a month earlier than me. Tracey is having a girl so we have already scheduled a first date sometime this Summer between baby boy Kenney and Caroline. Pictured above is from Tracey's baby shower and then we went on a double date the following week at one of our favorite spots.
