Our Champ

One of the out takes, but I love it. This is Colton sliding down the back of the chair.

Pittsburgh Weekend - Part III

David was away for the majority of the weekend due to a business trip, but we made sure to get to see him on Sunday morning. My mom made a nice breakfast for all of us. David got to spend some time with his nephew before we headed back to Philly. We had a super fun time and miss everyone already.

Pittsburgh Weekend - Part II

So many more than are pictured above came over to celebrate my Dad's 63rd birthday. Good food, good company, and lots of love. Pictured above: Val sleeping on Brian; Gavin, Uncle George, Me, Uncle Rick, and Colton; Aunt Tina, Colton, Chrissy, and Mackenna. And yes, I did wear that same shirt for the entire weekend.

Ducks with the Demas'

On Saturday, we met up with my cousins Jessa, John, and Alexa at the game preserve in South Park to feed the ducks. For every piece of bread Alexa threw to the ducks, she ate about five.

A Sleepover & Pancakes

I have fond memories of my Nonnie (that's what I called my mom's mom) pulling up a chair to the kitchen counter for me to make my own small loaf of bread or some of her famous pizza. My Nonnie was a master in the kitchen and when she was watching me, she would share her love of cooking with me. Some of my favorite childhood memories are doing just that. Which is why I love seeing my mom do the same with my niece Alana. Alana slept over for the first time at my parents' house. We read 5 books and then did our favorite little rhyme back rub - criss cross applesauce. She fell right asleep and then in the morning we had pancakes thanks to Grandmo and Alana.

Pittsburgh Weekend - Part I

Brian, Colton, Val, and I rolled into the Burgh for the weekend to celebrate my Dad's birthday. My mom arranged three fun events for each day we were there to make good use of their newly renovated kitchen and family room. Ellen, the kids, Jessie, and Craig joined us for dinner on Friday. Jessie made her famous mojitos for what is typically referred to as Mojito Friday's in the Doman household, my mom made a delicious meal, and Colton loved spending time with his soon to be Godparents (Jessie and Craig), cousins, Aunt, and Grandparents. Fun times on a Friday.

Play Date with Laurie

As part of my, "must get out of the house for a daily activity" rule, I went to visit my college friend and her two kids. We don't live too far away from each other and really need to get together more often. We spent the afternoon playing with the kids, trying to get a good photo of the kids, and trading our feelings on what it is like being a mom. You would not guess from the top photo that Hayden (her 10 month old) is teething and Laurie was up 10 times last night. I call that super mom!

Drinks on the Patio

We hit a local restaurant Saturday evening for cocktails and appetizers. It was nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful evening with Jim & Mike. Following, of course, was ice cream. We will miss Jimmy and Mike, but look forward to our next visit.

All 4 of Us

We spent a nice afternoon in Old Town Alexandria sitting under a tree overlooking the Potomac. It was absolute heaven. We picnicked, and then we just sat along the water doing nothing while realizing all that is good in life is just being together, all 4 of us.

Friday Night Fun

Friday night we got take-out Thai food, drank lots of wine/beer, and caught up. To end the evening, we walked along the Potomac (which is blocks away from Jimmy & Mike's house) to get back to our hotel. As you can see, Abby and Val got along famously.

Colt Meets Uncle Jimmy

Jimmy moved back to the East Coast after getting a promotion with the EPA. We were so excited when we heard it was a possibility that he may get the job, since we had been begging him to move back since he left. We had fun visiting him in Colorado, but the 3 hour drive to DC will make it easier to see him more often. Which is exactly what we did this weekend - headed down to see him so he could meet his new nephew. Colton was so excited to meet him. Pictured above is their first meeting.

Getting Lost in Those Eyes

We still can't really pin point who Colton resembles, but one thing is for sure...he is adorable.

Uncle Bob & Luke Visit

Bob & Luke were in the area this weekend while Mary & Ava were having a "Mommy/Ava day." Luke is a big fan of trucks, so he tucked away on the couch while having a read of the big truck book. Colton enjoyed being in Uncle Bob's arms.

Longwood with Christina & Patrick

Christina and I had been wanting to go to Longwood Gardens as an outing with the boys. We had planned it over a month ago because we figured it would be nice to walk around and enjoy the beautiful flowers while getting some fresh air. It took us so long to actually make it there because of the multiple heat waves - leaving us trapped inside our houses going stir crazy. We ended up finding the most perfect day and as planned, enjoyed all of the above. Colton slept majority of the time while a little butterfly hung out on his stroller for the majority of the stroll.
