We hosted my parents this weekend and went on our walk along the Wissahickon - we walked the path where there are tons of bikers, runners, and strollers. As always, 'long-legs' Brian was about 100 feet ahead of us with Val and my dad. So, my mom and I made the most of our slower pace walk and observed the nature signs around the path. Once we got to our destination - where Val can swim - we noticed the Yellow Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly (say that three times fast). It was one of the animals highlighted on the signs along the path and we were lucky to get to capture it. It was a much better find than the gardener snake that was also highlighted along the path.
