We celebrated Christmas in Philly this year. What that means is we miss the Christmas Eve celebration in the Burgh. It isn't the feast of the 7 fishes, but it is fried butterfly shrimp & homemade raviolis. And while it isn't a feast of 7 fishes, it is a feast we were sad to miss. In fact, Brian asked if my cousin Kathy could Fed Ex us some because it is that good.
Being that we couldn't be with our Italian family for the holidays, we paged through our Lidia's cookbook and made spaghetti and meatballs. Mr. Kenney & Pat joined us on Christmas Eve and when it was all said and done, we all probably ate 7 meatballs. Not fish - just homemade Italian meat-a-balls.
It was great company on a special day and we got to open up a huge package Jimmy sent of homemade wines and jams. Pictured above.
